VENUES & LOCATION
CONFERENCE VENUESICCPR2012 will be held in Barcelona. It will take place at the Faculty of Communication in the Ramon Llull Unversity and the Barcelona Centre of Contemporary Culture (CCCB). All the locations are situated in the lively heart of the city. Ramon Llull UniversityThe Ramon Llull University, which was founded in 1990, is a private university located in the downtown of Barcelona. Despite its short background in comparison to other universities, it has already been considered as one of the best private universities in Spain. For the Conference, the Ramon Llull University will provide 16 halls with various capacities of 40 to 200 people, all of which are fully equipped with all the necessary technical audio-visual facilities.
CCCBThe Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, or CCCB (Barcelona Centre of Contemporary Culture), situated in the cultural quarter of El Raval, in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona, is a cultural centre adjacent to the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA). The building is a mixture of old and new styles, dating from the early 18th century up to recent renovation of a facade in the Plaça de les Dones.
The centre, one of the most visited museums in Barcelona, hosts temporary exhibitions, a cinema, concerts and other cultural events. It opened in 1994 as a centre of urban development and urban culture studies administered jointly by the City Council of Barcelona and Diputació of the province of Barcelona, but soon after that became a museum about eclectic and varied subjects ranging from photography to sculpture or video art. Its thought-provoking temporary exhibitions frequently refer to social topics (immigration, international borders, Apartheid...) and art related to or coming from them.
The Auditorium is an active place for a wide range of events such as concerts, theatre, video projections, film exhibitions, audio-visual events and seminars, debates, presentations, workshops and conferences. It can host approximately 190 people and has two booths for simultaneous interpretation, conference loudspeaker, projection booth, video projector and internet connection. It is suitable for hosting the public debates. El Pati de les Dones is the central area of the CCCB. This is a huge outdoor space, where festivals, concerts and large presentations take place. We will organize the Welcome Reception there. MAPS

ABOUT BARCELONABarcelona is the second city in Spain: an economic, cultural, political and scientific center. Barcelona is a major tourism destination, both domestic and international, with a mixture of history, contemporary culture, beaches and gastronomy.
Barcelona has a conveniently located international airport (about 13 km from the city center) and a well-developed infrastructure of public transport. The subway-system makes this relatively compact metropolis even smaller, by connecting every corner of the city with each other.
Barcelona has hosted many conferences and meetings of all kinds and scales. According to the statistics of the International Congress and Convention Association (2009), Barcelona is the second city most sought in the world for holding international congresses. Most downtown destinations are within walking distance. Metro, buses and trains provide a convenient public transportation network within the city and to its suburbs.
